CheapTalk is a small (5k) application that utilizes Macintalk & the synthesized speech capabilities of your Macintosh!
CheapTalk should work on ANY Macintosh under ANY system! I have tested it under system 7.0 and 7.1 using MacinTalk v1.5.1 with NO PROBLEMS.
Drop CheapTalk into your system folder at the root level (same level as System). Make sure Macintalk is loose in the system folder (not the extensions folder) and that it is named “Macintalk” exactly. Under system 7, make an alias of the CheapTalk icon and put the alias in your Apple Menu Items folder or on your desktop (or wherever). Making an alias is not necessary for CheapTalk to function correctly, just handy for launching!
Select CheapTalk, type anything you want into the dialog area and click “Say It” - that’s it, difficult huh?
I claim no responsibility for this program. CheapTalk is actually an OLD program that I found on an old 400k diskette. After a little cosmetic surgery with ResEdit and some testing on my IIcx, it was ready to re-enter the mac market. It’s such a fun little program, I just though everyone should have an opportunity to try it out...again!
